About the artist:
I started painting at a young age after visiting an art museum art gallery for painting lessons. My grandparent's farm would provide the inspiration for my landscapes. After high school I joined the Marines for tuition and I became a rifle range coach. That's when I realized how much I enjoyed teaching.
Years later I completed my M.A. in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University. The Hickory Museum of Art has exhibited my paintings and I exhibit my art online. I've also created art for a published children's book and was asked to paint a mural for the ABC show Extreme Makeover Home Edition.
I enjoy teaching art and I was voted Teacher of the Year in 2015 and the 2016 Fine Arts Educator for my county. I also teach individual or group workshops so contact me if you want to improve your drawing and painting skills.
When I reflect on my work, I realize that being an artist is a blessing. I enjoy the painting process and I want to thank those who have purchased my originals and prints over the years. Painting really is like keeping a diary and I learned that having your art exhibited in a museum is nice but you can exhibit your art globally online.
I offer fun individual or group workshops so contact me if you want to improve as an artist. Enjoy selecting one of my museum quality framed prints or I can paint an original for you.
If you have questions or comments send me an email.
